Keeping Customers Informed

Many businesses need to keep customers notified of important events, especially ones that may impact on IT or support services. These events may include advance warning of a planned outage while a network is being restructured, or notification of a service interruption while a new version of software is rolled out.

Making sure customers are informed of these events helps manage expectations and reduces calls to the Service Desk by pre-empting enquiries and issues.

To meet this need, Infra provides a Bulletin Board through the infraEnterprise Customer Portal, which allows messages to be displayed to all customers or to a subset of specified customers.

The Bulletin Board provides the ability to:

  • Define the timeframe for which a notification should be displayed
  • Attach files to posted messages; for example, release notes for new software upgrades
  • Prioritize search results, to help customers quickly find the most important information
  • Partition messages, allowing only specific customer groups to receive notifications
The Bulletin Board is also available through the core infraEnterprise application, allowing notices to be sent to Service Desk staff.
